Introducing Dr. Love Holt

certified doula, maternal health educator, Community engagement manager, activist, & storyteller

Dr. Love Holt, a native of Berkeley in North County St. Louis, is a distinguished expert in maternal health and an advocate for reproductive justice. After overcoming personal challenges, including an abusive marriage and a cervical cancer diagnosis, Dr. Holt channeled her experiences into a powerful catalyst for change and healing. She relocated to Charlotte, NC, in 2013, where she founded a successful womb healing circle, leveraging her self-healing journey to support others.

Dr. Holt holds multiple certifications in herbalism, biology, anatomy, and trauma healing, which have profoundly informed her approach to health and wellness. Her academic journey culminated in earning a Doctorate in Divinity from the Divine Science Federation in 2021. Utilizing her expertise, Dr. Holt has developed numerous workshops and a specialized product line focusing on feminine care.

Returning to St. Louis in 2018, Dr. Holt continued her mission to revive ancient healing methods within her community. Her political activism has led to significant legislative successes, including the allocation of $1.5 million through Bill BB61 for pregnancy support initiatives. She also pioneered national training platforms for reproductive justice storytelling and has been instrumental in mobilizing Black birthworkers to advocate for health policy reforms at state and national levels.

In 2023, Dr. Holt notably collaborated with Congresswoman Cori Bush, making strides in Congress to advance the rights and health of Black women. She has developed two CDC-supported initiatives: “Black Women: Healed” and “The Brown Girls Brunch,” which have been pivotal in addressing health disparities.

Currently, Dr. Holt serves as a Community Engagement Professional and Storyteller for Abortion Action Missouri, and she partners with various reproductive justice groups nationwide. Her commitment to public speaking and community development remains integral to her work, underscoring her dedication to enhancing maternal health and empowering communities.
